The six most beautiful airports from around the world have been revealed, and not a single one of them is in Europe.
Most people are probably used to going through drab and lifeless airports, but this isn’t the always the case. Some airports have been constructed to be sleek and modern, making the travel experience slightly more enjoyable.
Prix Versailles has picked out the most beautiful airports from across the globe as part of their World Achitecture and Design Awards.
Taking the stop spot is Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, which is designed in an X-shape – each of the four points inspired by Abu Dhabi’s landscapes.
There were two contenders from Asia – Changi Airport Terminal 2 in Singapore and Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
Changi Airport Terminal 2 underwent significant upgrades recently which finished at the end of last year, and elsewhere in the airport sits the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
Suvarnabhumi Airport is Thailand’s busiest, seeing over 51 million passengers in 2023, representing a 79% increase on the previous year. It’s also one of the biggest international airports in Southeast Asia
The United States also boasts two of the world’s most beautiful airports – Logan International Airport, Terminal E in Boston and Kansas City International Airport.
