North Carolina woman arrested after man and cat are found dead in home

GREENSBORO, N.C. (TCD) — Officials recently arrested a 38-year-old woman after finding a 59-year-old man and a cat deceased inside his home this week.

On the night of Thursday, May 30, deputies with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Venus Drive, where they found Todd Arnold deceased with multiple stab wounds to his torso and other unspecified injuries. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will confirm Arnold’s exact cause of death and injuries he sustained in the alleged attack.

During the investigation, authorities also found a deceased cat inside the residence, according to a press conference held by the sheriff’s office. Officials did not say how the cat died.

Investigators identified Lauren Fullerton as the primary suspect, and she was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and felony cruelty to animals. She remains held in the Guilford County Detention Center without bond and was scheduled to appear in court on May 31.
