NEW LISBON, Wis. (TCN) — Investigators are searching for a man they allege killed two missing young girls and a woman who were found dead inside a residence last week.

According to the New Lisbon Police Department, on the night of Dec. 29, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office notified the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office regarding a missing juvenile in their jurisdiction. Forty-seven-year-old Virgil Thew allegedly picked up the child, and he was the last person to see them.

The following morning, New Lisbon Police began working on the case and learned about a second child who disappeared from the area. On Dec. 30 at approximately 4:29 p.m., two juveniles and one adult were found deceased inside a home on West Bridge Street.

New Lisbon Police said the children were 12 and 13 years old, and officials identified the adult as 33-year-old Elizabeth Kolba. Officers did not specify whether the two girls found dead inside the residence were the juveniles reported missing.

Thew, who was wanted through Wisconsin Probation and Parole, is on the run and has not been seen since Jan. 1. New Lisbon Police announced Thew has a warrant out for his arrest on three counts of first-degree intentional homicide. He is considered armed and dangerous.
