Jay’s Slater’s family have been tirelessly looking for the missing 19-year-old, with the boy’s uncle admitting they feel left on their own as local Tenerife police called off the official search.
When asked if they wanted help from police in the UK, Jay’s uncle Glen Duncan told Sky News: “We would love that, it’s just not as simple as that.”
“So far we’ve just been in touch with the British consulate out here who have been saying it’s still a live investigation, we have just got to sit tight.
“It’s just adding to the despair really.”
Jay’s father Warren Slater, and Zak, his older brother, are also among the unofficial search through the Rural de Teno Park, where the teen was last spotted.
