WILDWOOD CREST, N.J. (TCN) — Police recently arrested a 43-year-old Philadelphia woman on suspicion of attacking a young child at a New Jersey pool, dunking him under the water, grabbing his father, and biting an officer last week.
According to a news release from the Wildwood Crest Police Department, on Monday, June 17, officers responded to a possible fight at a motel. Witnesses told police that a “highly intoxicated” woman, Fallan Turner, was “out of control in the pool.”
Further investigation revealed Turner allegedly took hold of a 10-year-old boy, “swung him around in the pool,” and dunked him under the water. The child’s father reportedly tried to stop the attack when Turner jumped on his back and allegedly inappropriately grabbed him.
In a statement obtained by WPVI-TV, Wildwood Crest Police Chief Robert Lloyd said, “When she was told that the people didn’t want her involved, she got upset and she became extremely unruly and did some very inappropriate stuff.”
Police spoke with Turner, at which point she “became belligerent,” and officers took her into custody. As authorities handcuffed Turner, she reportedly pushed an officer in the face, resisting arrest. Police said Turner failed to cooperate, and she allegedly bit an officer’s hand. The officers did not sustain significant injuries during the incident.
Turner faces charges of endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest with force, criminal sexual contact, failure to allow fingerprinting, harassment, and disorderly conduct. Turner was booked into the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
