FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. (TCN) — An Army National Guard soldier from Louisiana stands accused of killing a man who was in a relationship with his ex.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia, on the morning of Dec. 14, 25-year-old Natravien Landry allegedly assaulted and fatally shot a man, identified by WRDW/WAGT-TV as Army reservist Andre Stewart Jr.

Per a criminal complaint posted by WRDW/WAGT, Landry’s ex was in a romantic relationship with Stewart and said Landry “expressed prior jealousy toward” him. Landry’s ex told authorities she “awoke to commotion in her bedroom, where she and the victim were sleeping, and saw Landry standing near the entrance of the room.”

The woman reportedly turned away from her ex and heard a gunshot. According to the complaint, another witness saw Landry strike the victim several times with the firearm and shoot at him. Other witnesses allegedly observed Landry driving up to the residence. Landry reportedly asked whose vehicle was parked at the home before forcing his way in. Following the fatal shooting, Landry fled the home, the complaint alleges.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officials issued a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert for Landry. Around three hours later, Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Landry and recovered a 9 mm pistol. The U.S. Marshals Service took Landry into custody and booked him to the Lincoln County Jail on one count of murder.
