A 10-year-old girl has died and a 17-year-old girl has been arrested after an alleged stabbing in NSW.
Emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a home in Boolaroo, approximately 20km west of Newcastle, at about 3.45pm.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 10-year-old for multiple wounds but she died at the scene.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District arrested a 17-year-old girl at the home and she is assisting police with inquiries.
The girls are believed to be known to one another.
