OKLAHOMA CITY (TCD) — A 10-year-old child reportedly found five of his family members deceased Monday morning in what police said was a murder-suicide in which a man shot and killed his wife and three of their children.

On Monday, April 22, at 9:35 a.m., Oklahoma City Police Department officers responded to a home on Mirage Street and discovered five people shot to death. Police identified them as Jonathon Candy, 42; Lindsay Candy, 39; Dylan Candy, 18; Ethan Candy, 14; and Lucas Candy, 12. The 10-year-old boy was not harmed.

Oklahoma Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said in a press conference that investigators believe Jonathon Candy and Lindsay Candy argued and then he “armed himself with a gun and shot her multiple times.” Knight said Candy “systematically went through the home shooting and killing his children.”

Lindsay Candy and one of the children were found downstairs, while the other two children were located upstairs.

According to Knight, police had had no prior calls to the home for domestic incidents.

Knight said, “Make no mistake: What happened in that residence was nothing short of a massacre. His children were hunted down and killed.”
