US President Donald Trump could turn off Starlink in Ukraine as Washington officials send a huge threat to Kyiv.
Negotiators working on behalf of the US President told their Ukrainian counterparts that the vital technology could be withdrawn if a deal is not reached for Washington to seize control over valuable natural resources in Ukraine, Reuters reports.
Ukrainian troops rely heavily on Starlink to connect to the internet and operate their drones – used to track Russians’ movements and launch attacks of their own.
Starlink was created by SpaceX, the company founded and owned by tech billionaire Elon Musk.
Mr Musk now works in President Trump’s administration. Both have branded Mr Zelensky a “dictator” and called on him to hold elections despite the ongoing war, sparking widespread condemnation from allies of Ukraine.
