Trump’s interview on Meet the Press sounds exactly like the deportation strategy I proposed.
Above video clip: “And we’re gonna make it very easy for people to come in ….”

Kristen Welker:
What about dreamers, sir? Dreamers, who were brought to this country illegally as children. You said once back in 2017 they, quote, “Shouldn’t be very worried about being deported.” Should they be worried now?President-Elect Trump:
The dreamers are going to come later, and we have to do something about the dreamers because these are people that have been brought here at a very young age. And many of these are middle-aged people now. They don’t even speak the language of their country. And yes, we’re going to do something about the dreamers. And —Kristen Welker:
What does that mean? What are you going to do?President-Elect Trump:
I will work with the Democrats on a plan. And if we can come up with a plan, but the Democrats have made it very, very difficult to do anything. Republicans are very open to the dreamers. The dreamers, we’re talking many years ago they were brought into this country. Many years ago. Some of them are no longer young people. And in many cases, they’ve become successful. They have great jobs. In some cases they have small businesses. Some cases they might have large businesses. And we’re going to have to do something with them. And —Kristen Welker:
You want them to be able to stay, that’s what you’re saying?President-Elect Trump:
I do. I want to be able to work something out, and it should’ve been able to be worked out over the last three or four years and it never got worked out. You know, Biden could’ve done it because he controlled, you know, Congress to a certain extent, right? He could’ve done something, but they didn’t do it. I never understood why because they always seemed to want to do it, but then when it comes down to it, they don’t. I think we can work with the Democrats and work something out.Kristen Welker:
Let me ask you about another group of people, the estimated 4 million families in America who have mixed immigration status. So I’m talking about parents who might be here illegally —President-Elect Trump:
Yeah.Kristen Welker:
– but the kids are here legally. Your Border Czar Tom Homan —President-Elect Trump:
You’re talking about separation?Kristen Welker:
Well, I mean there are two aspects to this. Your Border Czar Tom Homan said they can be deported together.President-Elect Trump:
Correct.Kristen Welker:
Is that the plan?President-Elect Trump:
Well, that way you keep the — well, I don’t want to be breaking up families, so the only way you don’t break up the family is you keep them together and you have to send them all back.

What Happened?
- Was it A): Trump was never serious about deport them all.
- Or was it B): Trump was serious about deport them all but Republican governors or economists talked sense into his head.
Those are your only two options.
In parts of the interview, Trump sounded much more in tune with deport them all, but the cited paragraphs are unquestionably clear.
Deal on Criminals
Trump is now angling for a deal on criminals. Given that change in tune, there’s a strong chance that amnesty for dreamers will get enough cooperation from Democrat Senators to break any filibuster threat.
In turn, blue states will be forced to go along. Bye-bye criminals.
57 Percent Approval to Deport All Illegal Immigrants
On November 24, I wrote CBS News Poll Show 57 Percent Approval to Deport All Illegal Immigrants
Let’s dive into details of the latest YouGov/CBS News poll on immigration, policy and the US economy.
If Trump really does decide to go after all illegal immigrants, the economy will suffer and he will regret it.
The poll is bullsheet because it did not discuss costs.
If you asked people if they would be willing to deport everyone if prices rose 15 percent you would have gotten a completely different answer.
It’s the same as nonsensical polls regarding living wages. People favor all kinds of things until you ask them how much they are willing to pay for them.
Border Czar Tom Homan Rips Illinois Governor JB Pritzker On Illegal Immigrants
On November 25, I noted Border Czar Tom Homan Rips Illinois Governor JB Pritzker On Illegal Immigrants
Homan understands the mission and honestly believes in it. Importantly, he has the bureaucratic experience to pull it off.
I seriously do not understand governors and mayors willing to aid rapists, drug dealers, and gang leaders, etc.
What Should We Do?
In the above post, I stated:
I suggest we shut down the border, return to stay in Mexico, arrest and deport the criminals, institute a reasonable immigration policy, and give amnesty to hard-working immigrants who have been here a long time.
It would be very costly and damaging economically to try to deport 15 million people, even 7 million people.
Fancy that. Trump now agrees.
The New Home for Hispanics is the Republican Party
On November 7, I discussed The New Home for Hispanics is the Republican Party
Please click on the above link and play the PBS video interview of Republican Florida rep. Maria Salazar on Hispanics, Trump, and deportations.
She is author of the The Dignity Act
Here’s The Dignity Act Bill Summary
I endorse the Dignity Act. It is exceptionally balanced, well thought out, and bipartisan.
Should I Just Kiss My Illegal Immigrant Husband Goodbye?
On December 6, I discussed the above question in California Reaffirms an Open Arms Invitation to Illegal Immigrants
Things That Make Sense
- Deporting everyone on the ICE list charged with violent crimes regardless of other circumstances
- Deporting recent arrivals with no job and no sponsorship
- Deporting Venezuelan gang members
Things That Make No Sense
- Deporting spouses of US citizens
- Deporting parents of US citizens
- Deporting people who have been here for years, are employed, and are leading productive lives
- Deporting people, especially Afghans who risked their lives aiding the US for years in holding off the Taliban and who would immediately be killed upon return
- Deporting people without understanding the economic impacts
Deport Them All Foolishness
Deport them all is both economically stupid and morally unjust.
People who propose such policies are economic illiterates. Most of them just parrot whatever Trump says without question.
Vindication
I am pleased to report Trump is 1) open to amnesty for dreamers 2) open to discussion about spouses of US citizens 3) open to discussion about parents of US citizens 4) open to discussion of economic impacts and 5) open to moral issues.
Wow, who couldda thunk? (other than me and a few other brave souls willing to stand up to the deport them all insanity).
Trump does not want the mass inflation and job shortages that would occur under deport them all madness.
Deport Them All Is Officially Dead
The deport them all meme is now officially dead. I did not believe Trump would be that stupid. And I was right.
And now that Trump is on board with a realistic border proposal, I suspect most of the flag-waving economic illiterates and hypocrites will soon be on board too.
After all, everyone knows “Republicans are very open to the dreamers.”
Since that what Trump says, obviously, it’s always been that way.
