Get ready for some belly laughs with the finalists of the 2024 Comedy Wildlife Awards.
Announced on Wednesday, the shortlist is described as “a cracking collection of amazing, jaw-dropping, and laugh-out-loud photos of some of the incredible wildlife we share this planet with,” according to officials.
Among the selected images and videos are a cheetah playing hide-and-seek behind a tree, bears sharing a hug, a fish chasing an eagle through the sky, and a tiny flying squirrel “bossing it like a Mafia Boss!”
Open to wildlife photography enthusiasts at all levels—novices, amateurs, and professionals alike—the free competition celebrates the amusing side of the natural world.
“This year’s shortlist showcases some of the most spectacular photos ever entered, capturing wildlife’s funniest moments,” the competition noted.
The final selection includes 40 individual photographs, three videos, and four portfolio entries, all chosen from thousands of submissions across 98 countries.
