The last person to hear from missing British teenager Jay Slater has spoken up since he disappeared in Tenerife on Monday, warning that “something sinister is going on”.

Friend Lucy Law recieved a phone call from the distressed 19-year-old on Monday morning as he tried to make his way back to their hotel along a mountainous path in the north-west of the island.

He had been to a rave the previous night where he made two friends, but got lost and dehydrated on his journey home and has not been seen or heard from since.

Law echoed fears already voiced by Slater’s mother, Debbie Duncan, that the apprentice bricklaywer from Lancashire has been kidnapped.

She told MailOnline: “It’s been three days now since he was last seen and the more time goes on the more I’m sure he has been taken. At first I wasn’t so sure but now I’m convinced.

“He is not stupid. if he left the house on his own he would have walked to the road and then tried to flag a car down or stop someone for help.

“The more time passes and he has not been seen then the more we are convinced he has been taken by someone and is being held against his will.

“The whole thing is just so weird someone must have seen him, we are all extremely worried and the more it goes on the more dodgier it looks. I just think the fact that no one has seen him makes it all the more sinister.”

Slater left the rave with two people and was last seen getting into a car with them as they travelled to a property in Rural de Teno Park.

In a desperate attempt to make it back to the hotel he was staying at, Slater began walking the 10-hour journey.

The search mission is now on its fourth day and around 15 of his friends and family have flown out to Tenerife to help. Upon arrival, his distressed mother recieved a horrifying message on Snapchat thaty read “kiss goofbye to your son”.

She said: “I just think he’s being held against his will. He’s not a stupid lad. He wouldn’t have gone walking down bloody mountains. There’s a road there with tourists and buses and properties. He’s not that daft.

“I got a Snapchat about 10 minutes after I got off the plane saying ‘Kiss goodbye to your boy, you’re never going to see him again, he owes me a lot of money’.

“There’s been that many prank calls that I don’t know whether that was one but I’m passing on information to police that I think could be relevant and I thought that could be.”
