Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has offered Australia’s support and condolences to Papua New Guinea following a massive landslide.
The background: Hundreds are feared dead after in Enga Province, about 600km northwest of the capital Port Moresby, on Friday morning.

What else to know: The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) said more than six villages were impacted. According to the Papua New Guinea Post Courier, the landslide buried more than 300 people and 1182 houses.
What happens next: PNG prime minister James Marape has said disaster officials, the Defence Force and the Department of Works and Highways were assisting with relief and recovery efforts.
